When The Joker and Lex Luthor join forces it is up to Batman and Superman to stop them and save Metropolis.Amazon.com
This feature-length tape began as a three-episode story line on the animated TV series, a superhero crossover where Bruce Wayne visits Metropolis and the Dark Knight meets the Man of Steel for the first time. The two heroes mix like oil and water, the law-and-order Superman suspicious of Batman’s rather ruthless methods; but they form an un… More >>

World’s Finest is a great TV movie. In terms of acting and animation. But, I only have one problem w/ it.
In the film “THE INCREDIBLES”, there’s a hilarious scene in “E”s mansion with the famous “cape gag”. People loved it. It can make caped heroes look embarrassed. But, who said comic fans want things that way?
Don’t get my drift? Here’s a better way to explain it, in “World’s Finest” there’s a scene that disturbs me. Lois is in the Daily Planet building (alone), and, one of Lex’s robots is attacking Metropolis. Batman jumps through the window, picks up Lois, and they hide in a paper printing room. Batman distracts the robot. The robot comes closer to Batman and he steps back. He backs up until he is right behind operating printing machine (w/ spinning cylinders, carrying paper through the printing machine), but, he gets too close. A second later, his cape is caught in one of the cylinders, and he is pulled into the machine, forcing him to remove the cape/cowl, revealing his secret to Lois. I’ll stop there.
See? That’s what disturbs me. Cape jokes/gags/situations that make heroes look bad is something I hate. Superheroes get embarrassed by this stuff, because, they’ll look like fools choosing to wear capes. Capes were made to make heroes look cool, not to embarrass them. I have to keep my eye on the cape to make sure nothing happens and then I miss the episode & plot. Other episodes (Of both Batman & Superman) that disturb me this way include:
The Last Laugh
Heart of Steel (part 2)
Last Son of Krypton (part 3)
A Little Piece of Home
Speed Demons
Over the Edge
Old Wounds
Mxyzpixilated
Critters
Batgirl Returns
Holiday Knights
Heavy Metal
Superman’s Pal
And, a SUPERMAN episode w/ Bizarro
Anyway, these cape “accidents” disturb, not only me, but comic book fans as well! In conclusion, we all hate these cape things. LET’S BLAME THE WRITERS!!!!!!!!

Unbelievable that Warner Brothers would produce a “Family Entertainment” movie that includes violence on women. There are multiple scenes where the bad guys are punching or hitting the women for no reason. This is definitely not a movie for young children.

Its lacking. The other DC animated features are better. The characters are perfectly written and voiced. Very good. More of it should have been in Gotham, though.

The Long awaited meeting of Batman and Superman was to me a disappointment. The origional Batman The Animated Series had unmatched design and style. It seems that Bruce Timm and Pual Dini have gotten lazy while basking in their success. The “New Look” looks like a half effort; sloppy. Batman, once one with the shadows now struts about in full veiw, his once huge cloak wrapped about him (Looking very cool) now hangs limply from his back. Superman seems slow witted and unaware of his potential, using one power at a time, instead of an effective combination of strength, speed, invulnerability etc. Not to mention the fact that he is battered back by mere bullets. Growing up with Batman The Animated Series, I expected a better effort from Timm and Dini. Stop hiding behind more violence and explosions and turn out some quality work, guys. Thanks for your time
