I put a lot of effort and energy into this project. Took almost a year to record. A lot of re-writing lyrics to get it right. The final product in my mind is well worth the purchase. Having a musical background in Bob Dylan, L Cohen, Bob Lind and folk genre,I believe all romantics and thinkers will enjoy this CD and it’s message. My second CD is releasing early 2010 and will be heading for Amazon in early 2010.

“Here I am in Buffalo” by Mike Nace is a poetic storytelling disc. When I first listened to the disc, it reminded me of Bob Dylan or Paul Simon (yes those two are quite different). Mike Nace obviously released this CD for greater spiritual/personal satisfaction, which is something that lacks in todays society. I encourage any an all who want a refreshing and easy listening CD to pick this up, it is great!

I was given this CD as a gift and was unsure if a not-so religious person would enjoy a Christian artist, but to my surprise, I enjoyed the music very much! The instrumentals are great and the songs are very “catchy.” I found myself singing along after listening to the CD only once. The lyrics are honest, touching and sincere. A great investment for the CD collection!

Here I Am In Buffalo, J. Michael Nace’s impressive first CD is a collection of what he calls “highway songs.” But a careful listening reveals more. Lyrically evocative of individual and collective memories of the past, the songs are marked by a musicality that echoes images, not only of life journeys, but of the open sea. The softness of the lapping waves can be heard in gentle, sad songs like Julie, and then the rhythm of the flux changes and the jubilance of the triumphant waves that crash against white cliffs can be heard in Heavy Duty Lord. My personal favorites are The 90′s, a kind of musical epic of those decades that marked contemporary history, and Travellin’ Man”with an upbeat rhythm that catches and won’t let go, leaving a lingering nostaglia for times past. This isn’t music just for flower children or religious devotees , however.” I’ll sing and I’ll play/When I have things to say,” he sings in My Little Town. He certainly has things to say to all of us ; hopefully this CD is just a beginning.
